 "great little pan" 2010-02-07
By H. Bagdasarian
I bought this inexpensive nontoxic pan for omelettes because eggs stuck to the more expensive ceramic coated cast iron omelette pan I have. I like this pan so much, I'm planning to purchase a larger one, too. I noticed that I have to reduce the heat a step or two when using it. A disadvantage is that it must be washed by hand, not in the dishwasher.

 "My favorite pan!" 2010-02-06
By GT1979 (Hamden, CT USA)
Got this pan as a gift from a friend. I love it! It has a good weight to it, stay cool handle and is in fact a wonderful non-stick. It heats evenly and I find that I do not have to take my stove to high heat. Food glides off with ease and clean up is very easy. I only wish that it came with a lid... which is ok ... because it led me to find another great product by Cuisinart... the splatter guard lid.

"Still Working Great After a Year of Use" 2010-02-03
By Pen (Hometown USA)
I waited until I had about a year's worth of use on these pans before deciding to review them. I have both the 12in skillet and the 8in skillet, and they are both favorites in my kitchen. I also have a lot of All-Clad, old-school Calphalon, and cast iron. I am not sure why this pan has been getting so many negative reviews, but I'd guess that the cooks are just not using them properly. Non-stick pans are not made for searing or other high temperature tasks. They are for delicate items like eggs and fish filets. I have tried cooking things like burgers on these skillets and frankly, they don't perform all that well for that. You will be disappointed if you think this will pass as your only skillet. The general rule is cast iron for really high temperatures, steel or aluminum for low to medium high temperatures, and non stick should be used for low temperature only. At least that is the rule that works well for me.

I have the anodized aluminum versions of these pans. They seem very solidly constructed, as well constructed as All-Clad IMHO. The stainless steel handles are comfortable and stay cool during cooking. Heat distribution is very good.

I always allow the pans to pre-heat for 5 or 10 minutes prior to adding food. When cooking, I use only silicone or wooden utensils, never metallic. After every use I allow the skillets to cool to room temperature before washing. Then I wash with soap and water whether it seems they need it or not. After a year they are both as non-stick as when they were new. Omelets, scrambled eggs, pan cakes, fish, all slide right off of the pans. Well, they need some coaxing with a spatula, but I would not say that they stick.

I always use butter with eggs by the way. Butter is not there only to prevent sticking, it also adds flavor and prevents the eggs from turning rubbery. So how these would do without butter, I can't say.

After a year, the pans show absolutely no sign of wear and I am still very happy.

"Works great at first, then horrible" 2010-02-02
By Lisa (St. Paul, MN)
I thought this was the best nonstick fry pan ever when I first received it. After a couple months, it started loosing its nonstick properties. A year later, it is actually sticky and worse than a normal fry pan (i.e. a fry pan with no nonstick coating).

"great coating, thin walled on sides" 2010-02-02
By R. Runyan (Arizona)
Bought this for the ceramic non-stick coating- want to cut down on the teflon in our diet. Coating works great- nothing sticks and easy to wash. Cooks eggs, meat and potatoes without sticking. We've had fairly substantial high end frying pans before and I was surprised how thin the sides were on this one. The part away from the heat, is a single layer of stainless and the whole pan is much lighter than the heavy aluminum pan it replaced. However, the base is substantial and distributes heat well over the bottom. I like it, I just hope the thinner sides hold up to the banging around for the long run.
